Eastmoor Resident arts
What we do
We are a group of people who meet every Monday evening 6 - 8pm at St Swithun’s Community Centre to take part in arts and craft activities. Our group consists of mostly ladies, however we welcome male members too.
We enjoy socialising while sharing each others talents and learning new skills.
Who is it for?
The group is open to anyone who is interested in arts and crafts, sharing their ideas and learning new skills.
We concentrate on all media of arts and crafts and cover a range of
projects from card making to willow weaving.
Members take turns to lead workshops and this enables us to share new ideas and skills with each other. This is done on a
voluntary basis. We do occasionally apply for funding to enable us to pay for professional workshops.
What does it cost to join?
To enable the group to continue meeting we pay a weekly subscription of £3.00 per person. This covers the room hire, refreshments and the workshop for the evening. There are occasions we may have to pay a one off amount of £5 towards a project if it is expensive to complete. The Faberge Egg project was one of these occasions.
We ask members to pay their subs for their holiday weeks as we still have to cover the room hire. If a member is ill or there are special circumstances in which a member is unable to attend then subs are wavered for these weeks. Members will still receive the projects covered for the weeks they are off.
